Cute Boots in the 2023 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
There are a ton of great basic booties this year (unlike, say, the slew of white booties they had last year). If you’re wearing wide-leg pants, trousers, or flared/wide leg denim, a bit of a point is a must, I think — but proper hem length is so important! For my clumsy $.02, I’ve always found a thicker heel easier to navigate than a stiletto with trousers and trousers, but that’s me!

Tall boots are coming back — this year we’re seeing very skinny, tall stiletto heels from major brands like Reiss and Marc Fisher LTD (and imitators like Matisse), while more weekend-friendly brands like Paige and AllSaints are sticking to thicker heels. I’m intrigued to see the brown/tan trend continue (great to wear in fall with bare legs (know your office)), as well as the slouchy boot trend. There are also some over the knee styles that I think are great for the weekend, and possibly your office. (There’s a huge variation in what is acceptable based on your city, career, and office culture; know yours before you wear OTK styles, lug-soled stompy boots, or (sigh) possibly even going sans tights or pantyhose for days.)
Some of the cute tall boots are below: not pictured, but I’m also a fan of these stompy, tall boots from AllSaints, at least for weekends.
